A level photography is split into two projects, a personal investigation and an exam project. The personal investigation allowed me to choose a topic that interested me. I chose to record the hidden beauty that is urban decay. Buildings that once stood tall have since crumbled into dust and rubble. Often not a single window is left in place; smashed glass covers the floor like pebbles at a stony beach. Gangs and youngsters often spray there tags and graffiti on the derelict walls left behind. Over time, foliage and vegetation cover the abandoned buildings as Mother Nature reclaims the land. I have always loved exploring the woods and fields around where I live so this was the perfect topic for me. Finding buildings affected by urban decay wasn't easy. However I have recorded all my findings in this project as well as finding relevant photographers.
